Free n easy KL trip

Day 1

The girls and I took the morning coach to KL. It was such a LONG journey. And the seats were crap and uncomfortable. But it was relatively cheaper compared to the rest, so I can't complain. After 7 hours, we finally reached our destination. We booked the return coach tickets (RM35) at Pudu Raya before heading to our hotel.

A 3-star hotel along Jalan Bukit Bintang. We didn't make any reservation as they only accept walk-ins. Triple room for RM150. Not too bad, except the air-con wasn't working properly on the 2nd night.

After settling down, we went straight to Sungei Wang and BB Plaza, 2 interlinked shopping centres in the heart of Bukit Bintang. We had dinner at Hot Mama - a restaurant situated on the top floor of Sungei Wang. The food was value for money n delicious. Worth going.

Recommendation: can't recall the name but this dish is quite unique. The filling is chinese stir-fried vege with melted cheese, and wrapped in roti prata. Fusion!

After dinner, we went down Bangsar - a hotspot for pubs n dance clubs. You can find stylish restaurants, chill-out bars as well as dance clubs playing mostly RnB music.

The stupid taxi uncle actually drove off when my friend was only halfway into the cab. She nearly sprained her ankle. Plus he took the wrong route somemore! Lucky we didn't follow the meter, if not gotta pay extra! We ended the night with supper at the famous Jalan Alor. Oh, I went for foot massage after that. Can u imagine their massage salon is open till 5am in the morning?!

Day 2

We started the brand new day with breakfast at some outdoor hawker centre. It's somewhere near Sungei Wang and sells mostly Malay n Indian food.

After breakfast, we took the LRT to KLCC to see the famous Petronas Twin Towers.

It's quite troublesome to take LRT in Malaysia. To reach KLCC, we have to take train to Bukit Nanas, alight and walk 5-10 mins to the Kelana Jaya Line to take another train.

Next stop - Berjaya Times Square. A shopping mall with Asia's largest indoor theme park - Cosmo's World!

There's a small shop selling chinese cakes n pastries, on the 3rd or 4th floor. We tried the yu tou gao (yam cake) and shao bao (bun with sweet char siew meat). Very nice!

What is the best way to end a Saturday night? Visit the KL salsa club of cos! We headed down to Little Havana (along Changkat Bukit Bintang, beside Frangi Panni) but they changed to a live band performance so we went down to Salsa Havana (Jalan Bukit Bintang, in Federal Hotel) instead.

The dj played a wide range of songs from salsa to bachata to merengue and even cha cha. The guys in KL do alot of close holds, unlike Singapore. And instead of swaying their hips on the 4th beat, they replaced it with a tap during bachata.

Day 3

My short holiday has come to an end. Despite the minor glitches here and there, despite I was sick and down with fever, I still enjoyed myself alot! Let's do it again, shall we? =)
